1. What is Haze OS?
A. Haze OS is a Linux distribution built from the rock of Ubuntu as in Touch and Core editions but Debian testing as the base in Origami edition. It offers an 'Out-Of-The-Box' experience, A very slick and an easy-to-use desktop operating system interface. Haze OS (core edition) is powered by an ultimately simple desktop environment known as Cinnamon. It is heavily tweaked and preconfigured from the ground up to bring the best of Web and Open-Source technologies to your table.
2. Is Haze OS Open-Source?
A. Haze OS is a Linux based Operating System and so it is Open Source. However, The Icon Set, The many Wallpapers are legally borrowed from popular HDWallpaper sites or Deviantart. If you're planning use any of those resources, We recommend you to kindly ask the author's permission. The credits are available in the Developer page. Otherwise, You are permitted to do whatever you like with the Software.
3. Why Haze OS?
A. Haze OS is powered by many great artworks, Apps and configurations that are definitely not so easy to set up on a regular Linux Distribution. Haze OS is a community inspired project- Open to the community's feedbacks and requests. We provide a much easier to use desktop than a typical Linux UI. It provides a simplistic user experience above all and is very user-friendly to Linux newbies. We also provide a more customizable UX on our Operating Systems. These are some highlighting reasons as to why you must try Haze OS.

5. What is the recommended System Requirements?
A. Intel Core 2 Duo
1GB RAM

6. How do I install Haze OS?
A. You will need a DVD/ CD with 4.7 GB Storage available (That's available in our Country India, Check out in yours) or anything above 2.3 GB is also accepted as long as the ISO burns the content into the Disc.
(1.) Download the ISO file from the Download page.
(2.) You can use any ISO compatible Image Burner to burn the contents into a DVD/ CD. For OS X users, You may use the default tool itself. As of Windows users, We recommend you to use 'PowerISO' for burning the contents to the DVD/ CD. While your burning the Disc in PowerISO, make sure you check the Verifying option if you're using PowerISO or anything equivalent.
(3.) Keep the disc inside the system and reboot, It should now load to a Menu where you can choose to start the Installer directly, Run the live mode or running the System in Safe mode followed by the rest. If you still can't see the Haze OS menu then you need to change the settings in the BIOS (whatever key it is to select the booting device) and reboot again.
(4.) The installation process is simple and is GUI driven. All you need to tell is the User Information, Some Settings, Languages, Location, Hardware information, etc. Keep in mind, You should be connected to the Internet while you're running the installation because it downloads and installs some important technical packages. If you wan't to keep Windows alongside, Please partition the Hard Drive from Windows and plan before you install it or you can do it from Haze OS itself while installing if you have experience in partitioning Operating Systems. More guides on dual booting can be found at YouTube. Since Ubuntu is the base, It follows the same concept of installation.
(5.) Restart the Computer as it instructs and you'll be landing in the Desktop.
7. Where can I download Haze OS 3?
A. We don't provide support for Haze OS 3 anymore due to some bugs. However, You may try the Haze OS 3's innovative interface for many people may miss the Compiz animated effects. Download the 32 Bit build here. The installation requires Internet Connection to be turned on as it downloads an important package while it is being installed.
8. Who is the founder of this Project? And where is it's origin?
A. The Haze Project was founded by Mohammed Haashir from Chennai, India.

10. Why are you not supporting 32 Bit anymore?
A. According to the Haze OS guidelines, The software needs to run smoothly, rapidly, attractively and tirelessly on a Computer System. If these criteria are not met then there's no purpose of it's existence. Most computers of these days do support 64 bit technology. 32 Bit softwares have almost departed from the World. Due to stability, Time and performance reasons, We are not bringing the 32 Bit version. At least not yet. When we say 'At least', Assume that it's not going to happen anytime soon.
11. What if the Printer doesn't work for me?
A. We suggest Turboprint and they also offer a 30 day trial. However, There are many softwares available in the App Center to help you with that.
12. What is a Rolling Release? Does it end after all?
A. Rolling Release means you'll have all the updates from repositories maintained by the Linux Community to your system automatically and you don't have to upgrade your distribution to own all those updated packages.
13. When do you guys update the Software and on what basis does this project get updated?
A. A new version of Haze OS lands at least one year after the release of all X.04 versions of Ubuntu. We wait for new polished Linux technologies to come in as time rolls on. If we feel that there's a simpler way to improve our project, We immediately work it out. We delay a lot to bring a new version on the front because of the small size of the team but we're not giving up the efforts to simplify Desktop Computing.
14. I get a GRUB error in the end of the installation, What should I do?
A. Please ensure you are connected to the Internet while you're running the Installation. Sometimes, Haze OS downloads a technical package called 'GRUB2' and installs it. Chances are you might get Haze OS installed without Internet connection too. The reason being, according to the changes log, We have fixed this issue. However, We always recommend you to do the above steps to keep you safe from accidents.
15. The System says my Internet is connected but Internet is not getting connected. What should I do?
A. Open terminal and type
sudo pico /etc/network/interfaces
Add the following to the beginning of the file (preferably after the first comment line):
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
Save the file and enjoy.
16. When I run Haze OS Touch Edition's Google Chrome I am asked to unlock some profile, What's this all about?
A. Don't worry! During the development of this Operating System, Firefox was about to be the default Web Browser and Google Chrome wasn't setup by default as the default Web Browser and some tweaks were about to be made to the Web Browser. You may make it your default Web Browser by running it and simply click the unblock button and select 'Make Google Chrome my default Web Browser' from the popup. Everything else runs fine. You may clean up the system using the System Cleaner app before you run anything after installation for best performance but be sure not to go to the root mode of System Cleaner and run the Deep Scan or remove any root directory files as they may delete any critical files of the Operating System.
17. Why are you not collecting donations?
A. We're about to open donations in a couple of months or so. We'd love you to pay us even if it were to be 5$ because it encourages us to move on and develop more than just Linux distributions. Please join our forums or contact us if you'd like us to remind you when this is ready.
